The Challenge
Due to huge growth over recent years, a decision was made to move to a new London HQ in Soho. As part of the re-location, it was assessed a good time to re-evaluate their core communication strategy and standardise their meeting room platform and VC hardware in-line with core IT systems. Legacy VC requirements and capabilities had previously pushed Logicor towards using a CVI. However, with Dolby discontinuing their VC product support, Logicor were forced to re -assess their needs. Planning for the new office began in 2020, and after a period of evaluation of different AV companies, Logicor chose Workspace Audio Visual for the design, installation and support of AV technologies. Following many discovery meetings, key areas and technologies were identified and agreed upon. These included Meeting Room VC, Meeting Room Booking, Reception and Lift Lobby Digital Signage, Interactive Table, Hub Space and Desk Monitor and Mounts. The WAV Approach
After consultation with us, a proof of concept of three different meeting room systems were deployed and trialled. i.e.: – MTR with BYoD capability, MTR with Quick launch capability and lastly CVI. After 2 months, it was very clear the Logicor staff had naturally gravitated towards the MTR system with BYoD connectivity. Once agreed and confirmed, we set about creating an AV/VC standard for all identified Logicor room types; i.e.: – Huddle, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large (divisible room) and Town Hall (Hub). Implementing a common user experience was crucial to the success of the project. The MTR engine and BYoD connectivity became the core system for every space, with the camera and mics changing, depending on the size of room and operational needs.Digital Signage Area
As a smaller deployment, there were some key requirements in the Digital Signage area. The lift lobby portrait screen needed to share live information, such as the TFL Rainbow Menu, Weather, Date / Time and Welcome messages for visitors. The landscape screen provided similar information with the addition of Sky News in the top left corner in a Sky Sports esc style.Interactive Table
The purpose of the interactive table was for Logicor personal to show clients drone footage of the real estate, along with brochures and 360° photography. An ilyama 55” touch display was mounted in a purpose-built cabinet and driven by an Intel NUC running LIMA presentation software by Displaylite. The Hub
The Hub needed to be an informal social space for people to collaborate and relax. In addition, it would be used for large presentations and potentially town hall Teams calls. The core of the system became an MTR providing a consistent user experience providing Teams enabled Town Hall VC. A BenQ LU9255 8500 ANSI lumen Projector and 2 metre wide Projecta 16:10 Tensioned Elpro Concept Screen gives an outstanding vivid viewing experience. The Audio experience is enhanced using a BluOS media player, Kramer PA240Z Amp and Cloud Pendant Speakers positioned discreetly between services within the open ceiling space provide audio throughout the space. Shure DSP and MXA710 mics provide full, untethered coverage of the presenter, including the audience when questions open to the floor. Two Logitech Rally Cams are positioned in the ceiling for Presenter and Audience pre-set views.
Meeting Rooms
Existing and new Evoko Liso Meeting Room panels have been deployed outside all meeting rooms throughout the floor. This provides a consistent and familiar meeting room booking solution.
Open Office Area
Finally, the consistent aesthetic approach was also continued throughout the open office area for desk monitors and stands. 105 new desks were provided with 2 x 24” HP Monitors on Chief Kontour KXC220B Low-Profile Dual Monitor Arm, Column Desk Mounts.
