The Client’s Challenge
Box Andover, a prominent gym with deep community roots and a reputation for high-level coaching, wanted to enhance its group training sessions by integrating technology. The goal was to motivate members through visible performance data and to enable trainers to make real-time adjustments based on individual effort.
However, the gym lacked the technical infrastructure and expertise to design and install such a solution themselves. They needed a scalable and intuitive AV system that could accommodate up to 24 participants per session, offering live performance insights with minimal disruption during installation.
The Solution Provided
Workspace AV implemented a full AV solution centred around real-time performance tracking using Morpheus Training Systems. The installed technology included:
- Five 65” large-format displays positioned strategically around the gym.
- A CL900 Group Training Data Collection Hub for biometric data integration.
- HDBaseT HDMI extenders and an 8 HDMI Distribution Amplifier to support seamless signal delivery.
- Apple TV for wireless content streaming.
- An Apple iPad offering mobile and intuitive control of the entire AV system.
All equipment was sourced through Second Life Hardware, aligning with Box Andover’s sustainability goals while still delivering high performance.
The Installation Process
From the initial consultation, Workspace AV guided Box Andover through the entire process — from understanding the potential of screen-based training to full system integration. The installation was executed efficiently and discreetly, with minimal disruption to daily operations.
As Box Andover’s owner, Ruaraidh Pope, explained:
“Through Marc, we were able to understand what would be possible with the screens provided by workspace AV. Since having the initial chat things moved forward pretty quickly and we now have 5 large screens installed in our gym, some wall mounted, some mounted from beams providing a full coverage to a class of up to 24 people. The install was quick, on time, clean and caused me absolutely no work to the point I didn’t even realise the screens had been put in until I went to the gym one day! The technology side, which we have no idea on, has all been handle by Workspace AV and passed onto us to know what we need and then it was all provided for us. Although we’re yet to launch a fully integrated class with the Morpheus system, we know all is working and ready to go! We cannot speak highly enough of Workspace AV, with literally no fuss everything we discussed has been delivered.”
