Tell us a bit about your work history:
I started off in the industry back in 2011 after finishing my education, this was origionally meant to be a 6 month stop gap but as most people in the industry, I can defiantly say I fell into it and am still here! Working from warehouse coordinator, junior tech up to senior engineer, project/commissioner engineer all the way into pre-sales design, which I have been doing for just over 4 years now.
What does your typical working day look like?
Each day is different, some days I’m scheduled to meet with the Account Directors and BDM’s for their in-person client meetings, in which I assist in making sure our proposal solutions are 100% suitable for the client’s requirements. Other days I can be head down in design drawings, client briefs or tenders and then putting together the best solutions for each individual project.
What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I love working with technology and enjoy keeping up with the curve, there is always a new product or software release, which allows for so much more to be achieved.
What do you think are the three biggest skills you bring to work?
Communication skills and problem solving would be two of my strongest attributes, I really enjoy speaking with clients and colleagues and then working out how best we can move forward and resolve a potential issue they may have. Thirdly my willingness to grow, I am always looking to expand my skills and knowledge, every days a school day!
What are the key ingredients you think help create a happy workplace?
Laughter, openness and respect along with GOOD Coffee! Not just in the workplace but applies to pretty much any scenario IMO.
Outside of work, where are you happiest?
I enjoy being outdoors, country walks which are plotted by pub stop locations & spending time with my young family and friends.
Name one interesting fact people might not know about you:
I enjoy attending Classic vehicle shows and being involved with restorations, to which I have helped my Dad restore vehicles such as Motorbikes, Land Rovers, Tactors and Military Tanks!
